Cancer patients at BC Cancer-Surrey can now celebrate the completion of their radiation treatment by ringing a special bell. Imagine the feeling for those who fought and beat cancer ringing the bell of hope echoing through the air.
This bell was donated by the family of the late Garnie Bull, who passed away from cancer in 2014, the bell is mounted on a beautiful burl ready to be wrung.
The inscription reads:
Ring the bell, three times well, my treatment’s done, the course is run, and I am on my way
Among those in attendance at the dedication of the bell were radiation therapists Cherie Taylor, Julie Nager and Katie Chartrand. It was the first day of service of one of our new volunteer cancer drivers, Doug Revell of South Surrey.
