Make a Difference, Find Purpose

Whether behind the wheel, on the phone as a dispatcher, or supporting through administration, every volunteer helps drive our mission forward. Your time and compassion bring hope to cancer patients and their families across Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, while also giving you the chance to discover purpose, build friendships, and know you’re making a real difference every day.

Ways to
Volunteer

Driving

Volunteer as a Driver — your time can change lives by helping cancer patients reach the treatments they can’t miss across Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
“I once drove a professor and poet. We talked about music, generations, immigration — even AI. At the end, he called me an angel. Weeks later, I drove him again… and he read me a poem he’d written about angels. I was in tears driving home.”

Dispatching

As a Dispatcher, you’ll play a vital role in connecting cancer patients with caring volunteer drivers who provide complementary rides — all from the comfort and convenience of your own home.
“Many of the people I match with a driver don’t have family or friends nearby. Some would have to pay $80+ for a taxi, or take handydart which could take hours. We help them focus on treatment — not transportation.”

Administrative

As the Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society grows, dedicated administrative volunteers are vital to keeping our services running smoothly.
“We all know someone who’s faced cancer. This service is life-changing, and we’re proud to do our part.”
