Why I Drive
“Meeting new patients and shooting the breeze.”It is those simple conversations that often mean the most, turning a ride into something a little more human and a little more connected. Hugh describes his experience as rewarding, fulfilling, and empathetic, and says volunteering has also given him a deep sense of gratitude for his own health and for the resilience of the patients he meets. When he is not volunteering, Hugh enjoys woodworking, cycling, swimming, Scottish country dancing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Thinking about volunteering? Hugh has simple advice:
“Go for it. If you have time to spare, you will find the experience very rewarding.”Thank you, Hugh, for showing up with kindness and making a difference, one ride at a time.
